Our safety policies
We go beyond standard requirements to ensure our coaches are safe, secure and well maintained always. Here is what you can expect:
All seats fitted
with 3-point seatbelts
Every seat across our fleet is fitted with modern over the shoulder 3-point belts. We always request that passengers wear them while the vehicle is moving.
ISOFIX where
applicable
Several of our vehicles feature ISOFIX anchorage points for child safety seats. Let us know at the time of booking if this is a requirement for your journey and we will do our best to accommodate it.
Regular safety
inspection every 10 weeks
We don’t wait for annual MOTS. Every Allenby Coach undergoes an in-depth inspection every 10 weeks by qualified technicians, ensuring any potential issues are identified and resolved early.
DBS-checked
drivers
All our drivers hold and enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate. They’re vetted, trained, and experienced in working with children and vulnerable passengers. They’re also fully uniformed, so you know exactly who’s driving your group.
Alcohol and
onboard conduct
We allow alcohol on board whilst travelling to your destination at the discretion of the driver. However, this is limited to cans or plastic bottles, no glass allowed. Passengers under 18 are not permitted to consume alcohol on any Allenby vehicle. We reserve the right to refuse boarding to anyone behaving inappropriately or unsafely.
Travel with service animals
We welcome service dogs on board our vehicles. Please let us know in advance so we can make any necessary adjustments for comfort and accessibility.
Professionalism, always
Our drivers are here to deliver you safely and punctually. They are not tour guides but are happy to work alongside Blue Badge guides if you’ve booked one. We’ll happily coordinate pick-ups, route preferences, and group-specific needs in advance of the trip.
Going the
extra mile:
Safeguarding and support
For schools and youth organisations, safeguarding is critical. That’s why we:
- Provide DBS documentation and driver ID upon request
- Confirm all driver names and vehicle registrations on request
- Offer direct pre-trip communication with the assigned driver when required
- Remain contactable by office staff during your journey for support
Our drivers are trained to maintain clear boundaries and focus on the safe transport of your group. If you require additional safeguarding measures, we’re happy to discuss them during the booking process.
