Broadstairs Coach Day Trip — Kent’s Charming Seaside Town

April 20, 2026 | Allenby Coach Hire

Our trip to Broadstairs was a good day out. We were dropped right beside the food fair, set on a concrete area overlooking the beach. The weather was dry with a hint of sun and a light breeze—perfect for exploring.

The fair was bustling with many stalls and popup trailers selling hot street food from many countries and a long  marque covered area of other traders’ stalls selling a wide array of produce such as local wines, ciders and spirits too.  Fresh fruit and veg stalls and sweets/chocolates, along with gift stalls such as painting in several mediums, cards and photos.  Also a local wool producer/crafter selling soaps, cards, hot water bottle covers, gloves, socks, etc. Even a woollen fridge magnet sheep’s head with a black face which was very cute!  All wool from the local Romney breed.

There was plenty of seating for those wishing to sit and eat nearby as there was a lawn area along side the main part, which had flower borders. The cliffs are chalk, so a nice back-drop for the beach huts’ vibrant colours.  There were several paths/steps up to the road along the top Along the clifftop we passed Bleak House, once home to Charles Dickens, marked with a Blue Plaque. The 20minute walk offered lovely views out to sea and down to the beach below—an enjoyable end to the outing.
